The Solar Car Raycing Team is a Club at Illinois State University where students are involved in creating fully functional Solar Cars and competing with them across the country
The Solar Car Raycing Team logo is inspired by the geometric shapes of the solar panels that are used as the foundation of the cars. The different directions of the lines represent the light rays and how they travel differently according to the sun’s ever-changing location. The choice for the color blue is associated with aerodynamics, which is a vital factor that students consider when creating the cars. In the middle of the logo, there is a red horizontal line representing an abstract car that Illinois State’s Solar Car Racing team has built. The rest of the individual lines in the logo play a large role in making the solar panel one unified piece. These smaller pieces working together reflect on all the different members of the solar car racing team and how their group effort promotes a greener future.
